| Propaedeutic year |
|
|
During the first year of the course, or the 'propaedeutic year', you will dive into your future field of expertise. You will research and look at aspects of coast and sea from all sides. During colleges, but mainly by performing (project-based) assignments. By yourself, or with other students. Initiative and vision, those are the things you will have to develop. During the first year you will go sailing with your classmates to see what it is like to depend on the wind and the tides. Gradually the course will aim at subjects that connect even more with your own personal interest and ambition. The projects and assignments you get will never be 'standard' but always actual and real. They will connect to the developments and questions that play a large role in the present coastal zone field of expertise. From school year 2012-2013 the study Coastal Zone Management will start with two new majors: Marine Policy and Marine Biology. In the propaedeutic year you will get introduction courses for both majors. Based on these you can choose you own major, that will start in the second year. In the second year you will do as well an internship and we would rather have it if you would go abroad. Coastal zone management students get placed all over the globe! |
