During the main phase you will look further into the study material and continue to specialize yourself. As explained in the propaedeutic phase, from school year 2012-2013 the new majors Marine Policy and Marine Biology will start. This means from the second year students will have two modules every period: one for their major (either Marine Policy or Marine Biology) and one general with all coastal zone management students. In the third year we will go to Wales for a week for the module 'Stresseffects on Coast and Sea'. From the third year on the main language spoken during lectures will be English. This is partially because these lectures will also be attended by international students and partially because we want to prepare you for the international field of expertise you might end up in. This is also the reason for us to motivate you to go abroad a couple of months to follow lectures elsewhere. What do you think about the Minor program 'From Mountain to Fjord' in Norway or 'Aquatic Ecology' in Ireland? One of the more fun aspects in Coastal Zone Management is that you largely get to decide what the course will look like. Of course we have a complete program ready and waiting for you, but if you would like to specialize in a certain subject then you will have plenty of opportunities here. You can realise this through Minor modules or internships that give you the chance to look further and deeper into the subjects that interest you. Decide for yourself! |
